The Beach

We spent an entire week at the beach with my family. It was so nice to have a whole week off of work. We went to Martinique near Gulf Shores, AL and rented a 5 bedroom house. We had our own golfcart to drive back and forth to the beach and pool. It was also useful for helping Charlie get to sleep. Lola loved the golfcart and always requested to go faster. The Tom's set up a tent on the beach which helped with the unbearably hot weather. The kids enjoyed the sand a lot more this year than they did last year. They all took turns riding on Tom's surfboard. Lola fell off on her first try in the ocean and was a little gunshy the rest of the week. Since we've been back though she's been pretending to surf in the bathtub. We have a family tradition of working puzzles on holidays. We were bound and determined to finish the 3000 piece puzzle we started on day 1, but . we gave up with about 500 pieces left at midnight on Friday. It's the first time we haven't finished one. Michael and I took it apart in chunks so we can try again when we're all together at Christmas.
