Lola's 2nd Birthday
It's been a big birthday weekend for Lola. Nana and Papo flew in Friday. Lolita, Tom, Kate, Charie and Nannie all drove up after work to join us for Lola's birthday party Saturday morning. Nana led the kids in some parachute games. Lola can't get enough of Ring Around The Rosy these days. It didn't take long in the muggy Tennessee heat to work up an appetite for cake and ice cream.
Lola told us she wanted Elmo's world and Oscar Grouch on her pink cake. Papa baked Lola a strawberry cake and iced it, Mama drew the characters, Nana mixed the colors and Papa piped them. Lola loved it. It was hard to keep her fingers off of it before the party.
We had a blast the rest of the weekend playing with cousins Kate and Charlie. Kate and Lola had some truely ear piercing squealing contests. Charlie was enamoured with the air conditioning units outside. They all sat and played with Lola's new hair dressing playdoh set for well over an hour last night. Nana made us a delicious dinner. It's been great having our families and friends here to celebrate with Lola.
