Nana and Poppo came to town last weekend. They fly in to a small airport near our house, and it just so happened that Outback was having a conference here this week and had their blimp parked at the airport. They let Poppo take Lola out to touch the blimp. Lola loves airplanes. She's quick to point them out in the sky whenever we're driving or playing in the back yard.
We went to a book signing at Davis Kidd. Susan Eaddy, a childhood friend of Nana's, just finished a kids book called Papa Fish's Lullaby. Each illustration is done with clay. It was neat to hear about her creative process. Lola sat on the front row during the reading and announced said that she wanted that book. "Lola have it."
We took Lola to the Farmer's Market on Saturday to see the animals. She got to pet a horse, see an owl, an eagle and a turtle. Nana bought me some beautiful hydrangea's for Mother's Day. We're spending lots of time "outside" with Lola these days, so we're trying our best to create a space we enjoy.

I love the update! I've been busy "nesting" our outside space, too. I hadn't realized why until I heard it from you and it's true -- we're spending a lot of time outside now and here's why: a walking tornado is less likely to create much of a wake outside as opposed to inside with all those cabinets and their contents!

Miss you all.
