Flag

Nannie introduced Lola to the flag flying outside Lolita's house on the 4th of July. It was waving in the wind and Lola kept pointing at it saying "ag, ag" Since we've been home Lola has discovered our flag. I showed her the eagle on top. We unfurled it and looked at the colors and the stars. This weekend were reading an book about animals and came to an eagle. As soon as I said eagle Lola turned around and pointed to the flag. It's amazing how she's connecting things and how much she remembers.

We went to Birmingham last weekend to celebrate Kate's 3rd and Mimi's 80th birthdays. We went to the zoo Saturday morning to ride the carousel and train for Kate's birthday while mom and Mimi decorated the house for her party. She had beautiful and delicious carousel cake. Kate loved playing with Lola. Lola enjoyed seeing all of Kate's toys and scooting around the house. She also enjoyed some quality pattycake time with Nannie. Sunday we celebrated Mimi's birthday by going out to lunch after church and having yet another beautiful cake at Lolita's. It was great to have a nice long weekend with our family. We'll be back to celebrate Lola's first birthday in a couple of weeks.

Lola's baptism

lola's baptism

We had Lola baptized last weekend at St. B's in Nashville. Nana and Popum flew in Wednesday night. Nannie, Mimi, Aunt Lolita, Charlie and Kate all drove up Saturday morning. Lola was so excited to see her cousins. She couldn't get around the table fast enough to give them hugs. She did great at the baptism. She went to Father Jerry without a fuss, was very interested in the small bottle of oil, and lit up when he presented her to the congregation. She loves the spotlight. It was great having most of our family in town to celebrate with us.
