all dressed up, nowhere to go

I'm sure it happens to every parent. This morning we drug ourselves out of bed at 7 with Lola, fed her, spent at least 20 minutes getting her dressed, ate, spend 5 minutes getting ourselves dressed, bundled up and drove to church. We got all the way to the parking spot, and Tom said "did you get the diaper bag?" I didn't. No diapers, no formula, no wipes, no church.

bath time

bath time

There is no time like bath time, which is every other night for Lola. She never cries, but she makes a face like she is going to wail at any minute. Then, like clockwork, as soon as she settles in the warm water she tinkles. She bears with us as we bathe her, and only tenses up when we try to wash her neck, the dirtiest roly poly place on her little body. It's a haven for the formula that pours down her chin every time we feed her. She always has a huge grin for us as soon as Papa gets her out and snuggles her in her towel. It's as if she puts up with the whole bathing thing just so she can get wrapped up in her towel and squeezed by papa.

mmm...cereal

mmm...cereal

Lola has been paying more attention to us as we eat. She smacked her lips earlier this week as I ate a cookie. So we thought it might be time to try some rice cereal. She was pretty fussy throughout the entire experience. It was hard to tell if she didn't like the cereal or if she just didn't want to be sitting in her high chair. She blew a few bubbles with it and generally made a mess. We'll try again tomorrow.
