Happy Halloween

Lola went to her first Halloween party on Friday night. She was a sweet pea and we were pea farmers. I think we picked the sweetest pea ever from the pea patch. I wonder what she thought about seeing the Grim Reaper, Pippi Longstockings and the Big Bad Wolf. She didn't seem to care. She fell sound asleep on my shoulder. Today she put on her Halloween outfit and pumpkin hat. She's ready to greet all those trick-or-treaters tonight. Happy Halloween.

Flying Lola

Lola flew for the first time this week. I had a photoshoot for Pocket Full of Rocks in Austin, and couldn't stand the thought of not seeing her and Tom for 3 days. We ran into our friend Robin on the airplane and she held Lola the whole time. Lola is a natural traveler. She ate and fell asleep in Robin's arms. We stayed at our favorite hotel, The San Jose.

The Deans Visit Nashville

Tom's sister, Deanna, her husband, Frank and cousin Jack came for a visit last week. They drove all the way from Tulsa. I think Deanna's email sums up the weekend... "We had such a fabulous weekend in Nashville.  The flea market, Lola, delicious Thai dinner, Lola, cool Family Wash, Lola, cool behind the scenes tour of Word records (including a sneak peak into the office of the famous Creative Director, my wonderful sister-in-law, Katherine Petillo!!), Lola, Cumberland bridge walk, Lola, Bongo Java coffee (yummy!), Lola, Snap photograph gallery, and most importantly, meeting beautiful Lola." We had a great visit. We especially enjoyed watching Jack interact with Lola. He's a super duper cousin.

Urban Babies Wear Black

Last night Lola got all dressed up in black and went to two art shows. First we went to TAG art gallery downtown for a Mr. Hooper opening. We got to see our friends Jerry Dale, Julie and Cynthia. It was great to get a little folk art fix since we missed the Kentuck Art Festival this weekend. We ended the evening at Plowhouse for Papa's show with SNAP (Society of Nashville Artistic Photographers).

Welcome Home Charlie

Charles Thomas Owens was born October 6, 2005. Weighing in at 7 pounds 2 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long. Big sister Kate welcomed him home from the hospital, although later that night she wasn't so sure she wanted to give up her baby room to her new little brother. We had another great weekend in Birmingham. Lola got to meet her Grandpa Fred, Uncle Lester, Aunt Carol, and cousin Holly for the first time. Welcome to the world baby Charlie. We're so happy you are here and healthy.
