Lola and Mama are back in Birmingham this week. Papa is shooting a job in Pigeon Forge, TN. We are spending the week with Aunt Lolita, Uncle Tom and Kate. We're trying to get Kate used to the idea of having a baby around. Her baby brother is coming any day now. Maybe he'll come while we're here.
Lola met Tricia, Skyla and baby Graham for the first time today at Chappie's Deli. She put on her best outfit and was a very sweet girl, and you guessed it... she had some me-ilk for lunch.
We miss you Papa.

She only drinks milk

We stayed with her cousin Kate. Mama and Daddy had their first night out thanks to Nanny. Her grand-Nanny, aka Mimi, and great-great aunt Mae came up for a visit on Saturday afternoon. 4 generations of girls. Lolita has a baby boy on the way any day now. We can't wait to meet him.

last night was lola's first night out on the town. she wore her finest socks. first we went to a art opening showing four young photographers. it was also lola's first time in the baby bjorn, she seemed to be pretty comfortable as she slept through most of the show. feeling like real professionals, katherine and i decided to continue the night with a stop off at the family wash, our neighborhood bar. lola got to meet lots of friends as mama enjoyed a glass of wine and i had a pint of guinness for good health. we sat and talked with friends for an hour and then called it a night. these pictures were taken upon our return. lola did great and we enjoyed a night out.

a fine weekend

we had a great labor day weekend here in nashville. the current 80 degree low humidity weather makes you forget about the more than thirty days over 90 we had this summer. on labor day, deron and sara came over and cooked out steaks. this doesn't sound like much of a celebration, but we haven't had to cook since lola was born. people from church have been bringing us meals every other day for the last five weeks. so, after dozens of chicken casseroles, a grilled steak was indeed reason to party. lola continues to eat and sleep most of the time. she made her first shopping trip on sunday to costco, sleeping through the whole thing. i'm sure she'll get the hang of shopping eventually.

our friend david kaufman sent lola a big box of wrangler wear from los angeles, including her very own luggage set. lola the lawless babe will have to grow into her boots as well as her nickname (which adorns much of the clothes).
