Lola is out in Colorado with Nana and Popum this week at Granny Camp. Here are a few updates that Nana has sent:

Day 1: We had a great first day, met at the neighborhood center with the big pavillion, cabin, swing sets, playground, etc. We had games to learn everyone's names, played water balloon toss, jump rope, made an ornament with glitter, stones, glue, etc. We had picnic lunch there too. One of the games you had to say your name and something about you. Lola said she had an ipod touch.

Day 2: Grandma Camp was in Breckenridge yesterday. We started out at the visitor's center in Breckenridge and heard all about gold mining in the mountains, starting in 1859. We then toured a gold mine and panned for gold, went into an old mine tunnel. We had a pizza lunch and then had a tour at the Carter Museum, which was a home where an early taxidermist lived, now restored. We took a small hike and saw the dredge boat that scooped up rocks for gold mining.

Day 3: This is the hiking day and I pretended like I had something else to do and sent Popum instead. After lunch we had a duck race down a creek. We had 16 numbered ducks and we raced in age groups. Lola WON the first race. A grandma was at the finish, standing in the creek in rubber boots, with a big fishing net to catch stray rubber ducks. It was a sight!

We don't have any pictures from camp yet, so I posted one of the amazing family pictures our friend Kristen sent me yesterday.
